Block Ads and Shorts from YouTube on Chrome

We can't live without YouTube in these days but it is filled with bulk of Ads all over the page, Ads when you play a video and during intervals of the video if its too long.

You get relief from Ads if you are a YouTube premium subscriber. Ads are gone with premium but I've seen a bigger issue in Youtube i.e "Shorts", a TikTok competitor application created by Google to hook and addict everyone to watch short videos one after the other.

There is a solution to get rid of Ads and completely hide Shorts tab from the YouTube page on Google Chrome browser.

Download and install "uBlock Origin" chrome extension from this link. You can also find under Settings-Extensions. On the Extensions page click the menu (on top left) and click "Open Chrome Web Store". Search for the extension "uBlock Origin" and install.

The default setting of this extension will block all Ads from YouTube as well as on other websites. To hide "Shorts" in search, navigation icons, homepage and channel list from YouTube, paste the uBlock Origin filter in extension settings "My filters" tab.
